Sandy Chiu Scholarship Tournament 2007
October 29, 2007 EATONTON, GA -- Cuscowilla celebrated the 7th annual Sandy Chiu Caddy Scholarship Tournament on Monday, October 29, 2007.
Created by Bob Chiu and Cuscowilla, the Sandy Chiu Caddy Scholarship awards deserving Cuscowilla caddies financial support for school expenses. Since its inception, the Sandy Chiu Scholarship fund has donated over $173,500 in schloarship awards.
"The number of participants each year has grown and the tournament's support has been phenomenal," stated Jeff Patalan, Cuscowilla Assistant Golf Professional.
This year's champion team came from local restaurateur, Gregg Hawkins, owner of the Silver Moon. Along with Hawkins, Chuck Colby, Tom Lysiak and Chuck Little took top honors by beating over 70 competitors. The silent auction raised thousands for the scholarship fund.
Seven deserving caddies received scholarhips, all who attend Georgia College & State University, and all who had the grade point average, work ethic and character to receive this award. This year's winners include Steven Rowland, Martin Gogliormello, Chase Stephens, Robert Coleman, Kyle Smith, Ryan Hersh and Ernest Webb.
